On April 5, 2022, the Presidium of the Russian Scientific Technical Welding Society had a meeting.

Together with the Alliance of Welders of St. Petersburg and the North-West Region, the Direction of the Svarka/Welding Project took part in the meeting and presented their report ‘About current evaluation of the welding production in the shipbuilding plants’ and make an announcement about the Svarka/Welding Exhibition, where the discussion can be proceeded with. This will be the place to consider solutions that would help to deal with the sanctions, to decide on the update of Russian standards and support of local production, to think through the import substitution procedures for the welding industry, and to debate on the vocation training system and its further development.
